Contract | Full-Time | Nights | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Rotating nights, weekends, and holidays | Onsite | Inpatient Acute

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed inpatient acute stepdown/intermediate care unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 3–4 patients per nurse
• Manage patients with a wide range of conditions including COPD, CHF, diabetes, sepsis, renal conditions, DKA, alcohol withdrawal, overdoses, pneumonia, and neuro/surgical/cardiac diagnoses
• Operate and monitor advanced equipment and interventions including BiPAP, CPAP, tracheostomies, chest tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, central lines, and dialysis
• Read and interpret telemetry monitoring for assigned patients
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR and administer medications via Pyxis dispensing system
• Float to other units as needed, including ICU (for those with extensive ICU experience) or general medical floors, adapting to the patient assignment and acuity level required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret telemetry
• Comfort and competency with chest tube management

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a stepdown, intermediate care, or similar acute care setting
• Extensive ICU experience (preferred for candidates who may float to the ICU)
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
