Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | 8-Hour Evening Shifts (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) | Every Other Weekend Rotation | 12-Week Assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to telemetry and medical-surgical patients in a holding area within the emergency department, supporting patient transitions to MS and Telemetry floors
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and EKG readings for a primarily elderly, cardiology-focused patient population
- Manage care for critically ill and medically complex patients in a high-acuity environment
- Participate in every-other-weekend rotation and holiday coverage as needed
- Float within the hospital as required to meet staffing needs
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse license
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical Telemetry experience
- Current CPR, BLS, and ACLS certifications
- Ability to pass an EKG competency test prior to or during orientation
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working with stroke and telemetry patient populations
- Background in caring for elderly or cardiology-focused patient populations
- Experience in emergency department holding or transition-of-care environments
