Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Days Shift | Projected Start: August 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate speech, language, and swallowing abilities of neonatal and pediatric patients with impairments resulting from premature birth, birth injuries, disease, or other causes
- Synthesize assessment data to establish individualized plans of care through evidence-based practice interventions and goals appropriate to each patient's age and developmental stage
- Perform Modified Barium Swallow Studies as part of the diagnostic and treatment process
- Collaborate and interact with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to implement and assess patient intervention programs
- Provide coverage across NICU, Pediatric, and Adult units as needed
- Complete all other duties as assigned in a timely, high-quality manner
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Demonstrated neonatal (NICU) experience — required; candidates without this will not be considered
- Proficiency in Modified Barium Swallow Study (MBSS) — required; candidates without this will not be considered
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
- Current Texas State License in Speech-Language Pathology
- Proficiency or ability to quickly adapt to Meditech Magic and/or Meditech Expanse EMR systems
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Pediatric experience beyond the neonatal setting
- Adult patient care experience
