Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed combined Acute Care and Neuro Stepdown unit with patient ratios of 6:1 on the Acute Care side and 4:1 on the Neuro Stepdown side
• Manage and monitor patients requiring Vapotherm, BiPAP, tracheostomies, and titrating cardiac drips on the Neuro Stepdown side, as well as high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction, and various drips on the Acute Care side
• Assist with and support procedures performed on the unit including lumbar punctures and chest tube placements
• Participate in bedside shift report, daily huddle, and maintain personal connection standards in alignment with patient experience requirements
• Document all patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
• Float to other areas of the unit as directed following orientation, in accordance with unit floating policy

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Tennessee or through the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with strong Acute Care nursing skills and time management abilities
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS certification required for Neuro Stepdown assignment
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to manage complex neurological and stepdown-level patients
• Experience with Meditech or comparable electronic health record (EHR) documentation system preferred

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior Stepdown or PCU experience strongly preferred for the Neuro Stepdown role
• Familiarity with stroke care protocols and neurological patient populations
• Experience with Vapotherm, BiPAP, and titrating cardiac drips in a stepdown or intermediate care setting
