Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting under the supervision of unit leadership
- Monitor and assess patients requiring intermediate-level care, identifying and responding to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record
- Adhere to all facility policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the assignment
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or a compact state
- Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience in a Stepdown, PCU, or Intermediate Care (IMC) setting
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS may be required per unit standards
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills appropriate for intermediate-level patient acuity
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in a Stepdown or PCU environment
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems used in large acute care hospital settings
- Experience working in a high-volume regional referral or trauma center
