Orthopedic Surgical Technician

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | 4 ten-hour shifts per week | Call rotation required including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Provide intraoperative support for orthopedic surgical procedures across the main hospital and outpatient surgery center
- Manage orthopedic implants, grafts, and instrumentation throughout surgical cases
- Maintain working knowledge of orthopedic procedures including total joint replacement and sports medicine
- Support additional surgical specialties — including General, Urology, Uro-GYN, GYN, ENT, Neuro, Podiatry, and Robotics — when not assigned to orthopedic cases
- Participate in call rotation and maintain a 30-minute response time when on call
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with facility policies
Required Qualifications
- Current Surgical Technician Certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience with an orthopedic focus
- Experience with orthopedic implants and grafts required
- Strong understanding of sterile technique and perioperative standards
- Ability to adapt to different teams, workflows, and varying case volumes
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with robotics and advanced surgical technology
- Demonstrated ability to support multiple surgical specialties beyond orthopedics
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to anticipate surgeon needs
