Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (LDRP)

Contract | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 4x12-hour shifts | 13-week assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on an LDRP unit with couplet care, maintaining a 1:4 patient ratio
- Perform and assist with sterile speculum exams including assessment of effacement, dilation, station, and presentation
- Apply and interpret external and internal fetal monitoring, including recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Provide breastfeeding and lactation support to postpartum patients
- Float to assist other units as needed without taking independent assignments
- Fulfill mandatory call requirements, including 2 call shifts per 6-week schedule and every other weekend
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Active RN license in NC or a Compact state
- Current BLS, AWHONN, and NRP certifications required
- Proficiency with External Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM) and internal fetal monitoring
- Experience with LDRP and Mother/Baby patient populations
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records system
- Familiarity with Pyxis medication dispensing and SBAR communication framework
