Travel Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Respiratory

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36–48 Hours per Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 42-bed Medical Respiratory unit specializing in acute and chronic respiratory conditions, including pneumonia, COPD, and shortness of breath
• Deliver nursing care to a diverse medical patient population including those with GI issues, diabetes, and occasional stroke and surgical presentations•
• Maintain a 1:6 nursing ratio on the general medical respiratory unit and a 1:4 ratio within the 8-bed respiratory step-down unit
• Participate in daily interdisciplinary team rounds to support coordinated patient care
• Float to other units or facilities as required
• Work every other weekend and holidays as required

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Alabama or a valid Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted); must be verifiable through NURSYS
• Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience (18 months may be considered); must include at least 1 year of recent experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry specialty
• Experience must be working under the highest level of professional license

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with Meditech EMR
• Experience in a respiratory step-down or progressive care setting
• Comfort with floating to varied units and hospital environments
