Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts (alternating start times: 10:45 AM or 12:45 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a 23-room OR suite serving multiple surgical service lines including General Surgery, Neurology, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Transplant, and Trauma (CV excluded)
• Perform scrub and/or circulating duties for a wide range of cases including Craniotomy, Whipple, Free Flap Microvascular, Organ Donation, and complex Trauma cases
• Respond to emergency situations including code response, Malignant Hyperthermia, and fire safety events
• Operate and manage surgical equipment including electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Hana tables
• Maintain compliance with Universal Protocol, infection control, radiation safety, and specimen handling and labeling standards
• Participate in on-call rotation (approximately once per week) and one weekend shift per month

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license in hand or actively in the application process at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience required
• BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI cards not accepted)
• Level I Trauma OR experience required
• Experience with General OR and Trauma service lines required
• Candidate must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; first-time travelers not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CNOR certification preferred
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Prior experience in a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma, acute care hospital setting
