Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Full-Time | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week | Rotating Weekends | 2 Major Holidays Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on an Orthopedic / Medical-Surgical unit with a focus on post-operative and general med-surg patients
- Assist with and support pre- and post-operative procedures including total knee and hip replacements
- Perform wound care and assist with incision and drainage (I&D) procedures as directed
- Document patient assessments, care, and outcomes accurately using the Meditech electronic health record system
- Float to other units as needed in accordance with facility floating policy
- Adhere to facility dress code and professional conduct standards at all times
Required Qualifications
- Active Texas LVN / LPN license (temporary licenses are not accepted)
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of LVN / LPN experience in a Medical-Surgical setting
- Basic wound care experience
- Ability to float to other units per facility policy
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Orthopedic nursing experience, including care of total joint replacement patients
- Prior experience with Meditech documentation system
- 2 or more years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience
