Contract (13 Weeks) | Mid Shift (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM) | 36–48 Hours Per Week | Onsite | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays as Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all age groups within a high-volume Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center emergency department
• Manage patient assignments with nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:1 for critical and trauma patients to 1:3–4 for general emergency patients
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff to deliver timely and effective emergency care
• Float to other units and hospital facilities as needed to support staffing requirements
• Document patient care accurately using the facility's Meditech EMR system
• Adhere to facility dress code (solid navy scrubs) and all departmental policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama or a valid Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted); NURSYS verification required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working under the highest level of professional licensure, including at least 2 years in a large hospital setting with trauma experience
• AHA or Red Cross ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) and SECURE (completed on-site) certifications required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a high-volume emergency department treating 60,000+ patients annually
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR systems
• Experience floating across multiple units or hospital facilities
