Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, and developmental level
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, including identifying patient risk factors, prioritizing needs, and coordinating with the inter-professional team
• Administer patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within scope of practice; recognize and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
• Provide patient and family-centered education, explaining procedures, treatments, and processes while addressing educational needs based on comprehension level
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including timely execution of discharge orders and coordination with Case Management
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and documentation auditing

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to perform age-specific patient safety assessments and implement appropriate safety measures
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to collaborate across care team members
• Proficiency with or ability to be trained on computer systems and clinical applications

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous nursing experience in an emergency department or acute care setting
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
