Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments incorporating culture, age, and developmental level, and develop individualized, prioritized plans of care in coordination with the inter-professional team.
• Implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within scope of practice, including medication administration, wound care, and IV therapy, while recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition.
• Conduct ongoing patient assessments and revise the plan of care and clinical pathways based on patient and family response and outcomes.
• Provide patient and family-centered education, facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, and coordinate with Case Management to ensure continuity of care.
• Mentor staff members and nursing students, serve as a clinical role model and resource, and actively participate in unit-based professional governance and quality improvement activities.
• Uphold patient safety standards by attending required safety training and actively contributing to quality measures such as patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and documentation audits.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency in medication administration, medical procedures, and use of medical equipment and technology.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and patient/family education.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Demonstrated experience in a Mother Baby or Postpartum clinical setting.
