Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Days | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized exercise, training, and nutrition programs to provide treatment for pediatric patients.
- Conduct fitness and metabolic exercise stress testing to assess physical condition, utilizing established procedures as directed by a physician.
- Set up and check equipment for stress testing; prepare and secure electrodes to ensure interpretable results and explain methods and procedures to patients.
- Record and calculate all necessary parameters, interpret ECG tracings for diagnostic purposes, and make recommendations based on test results.
- Utilize an interdisciplinary approach to patient care; prescribe and progress therapeutic exercise-based interventions while providing ongoing patient assessment including ECG interpretation and physiological response monitoring.
- Provide age-appropriate patient and caregiver education in both one-on-one and group settings, exercising independent judgment within the scope of practice.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical Exercise or a related field required.
- Minimum of 2 years of direct cardiac and/or pulmonary patient care experience in an acute or rehabilitation setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (American Heart Association only).
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required (American Heart Association only).
- Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong verbal communication skills to effectively interact with medical staff, patients, families, and the public.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Master's degree in a Clinical Exercise field preferred.
- Experience with Metabolic Exercise Stress Testing in the pediatric population highly preferred.
- Experience with Vyaire equipment highly preferred.
- Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (RCEP) certification through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) preferred.
