Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity Labor and Delivery nursing care in a high-volume unit serving midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care populations
- Circulate in the OR during deliveries and perform scrub-related duties as required
- Function as Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continuous newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, and full newborn assessments until transfer to postpartum
- Administer and monitor high-risk medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Utilize electronic fetal monitoring and EPIC documentation systems
- Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units, and potentially to sister facilities offering Mother/Baby services, as needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a high-acuity, high-volume environment; high-risk L&D experience required
- Active and valid RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Demonstrated ability to circulate in the OR
- Proficiency in newborn care including eyes, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments
- Proficiency with electronic fetal monitoring and EPIC EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 5 or more years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
- ACLS certification preferred
- AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
- Experience supporting patients in substance recovery programs
