Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room and arrange necessary equipment prior to surgical procedures
- Serve as circulator and/or scrub RN, providing direct support to surgeons and anesthesiologists throughout surgical cases
- Assist with a variety of surgical procedures including orthopedic, neurological, robotic (Da Vinci), and general OR cases
- Inspect, maintain, decontaminate, and repair surgical equipment while maintaining accurate inventory records
- Perform pre- and post-surgical patient care including transporting patients, applying dressings, and related duties
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
Required Qualifications
- Current, valid RN licensure
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of current OR experience in an acute hospital setting (surgical center experience does not qualify)
- Strong experience in orthopedic, neurological, and robotic surgical procedures
- Willingness and ability to float to general OR as needed
- Proficiency with sterile technique including gowning, gloving, sponge counts, and management of surgical tubing and cords
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Hands-on experience with Da Vinci robotic system, including scrubbing robotic cases
- Previous travel nursing experience with ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment
- Ability to function independently and integrate effectively into an established OR team
