Key Responsibilities
- Assess, evaluate, and develop individualized physical therapy treatment plans for patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric populations in consultation with physicians.
- Administer physical therapy treatments including manual exercises, traction, hydrotherapy, ultrasound, and other physical agents; instruct and assist patients with functional and daily-living activities.
- Evaluate patient progress and the fit of prosthetic and orthotic devices, recommending adjustments and modifications as needed.
- Complete discharge planning in collaboration with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare team members; design and instruct patients and caregivers on home exercise programs.
- Accurately document all patient care services in patient and departmental records in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Maintain a safe, clean working environment by adhering to infection-control policies, equipment maintenance protocols, and all applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapy license issued by the State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical dysfunctions.
- Ability to assess patient needs, meet quality standards for care, and evaluate patient satisfaction outcomes.
- Strong communication skills with proficiency in clinical documentation and patient/caregiver instruction.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in an inpatient or swing bed rehabilitation setting.
- Experience developing and delivering in-service training programs for therapy staff.
- Familiarity with assistive and supportive device fitting and patient education across a broad age range.
