Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to stable medical/surgical and PCU-level patients in an ED boarding unit pending discharge or transfer to an inpatient unit
• Manage a fluctuating patient census in a unit that can range from 4 to 10 beds, with patient ratios of approximately 1:5–6 depending on acuity and staffing
• Participate in team nursing alongside LPN staff, including appropriate delegation and coordination of patient care tasks
• Float to an inpatient PCU unit as needed based on census and staffing requirements
• Monitor patient stability and facilitate timely escalation or transfer if a patient's condition changes

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – must be in hand prior to start date
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with PCU experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic health records system required
• Comfort with team nursing models involving RN/LPN collaboration and delegation
• Must be willing and able to float within the facility or to an affiliate location

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an ED boarding, observation, or stepdown environment
• Experience working in high-acuity, fast-paced units with variable patient census and staffing models
• Familiarity with team nursing structures and LPN delegation in an inpatient or transitional care setting
