Contract | Nights (3x12-Hour Shifts, 18:45–07:15) | Onsite | 13–26 Week Contract
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit with a focus on neurological surgical procedures and neuro diagnoses
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:5–6 and deliver safe, high-quality nursing care throughout each shift
- Utilize unit systems including Pyxis for medication management, EPIC for documentation, and SBAR for communication
- Float to other units within or near the facility as required
- Fulfill weekend shift requirements as coordinated with unit management (approximately 12–16 weekend shifts per contract)
- Be available to serve on a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team; may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state (pending licensure considered for submission)
- Minimum of 2 years of registered nursing experience
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Openness to floating within and near the facility per assignment requirements
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHS) certification preferred
- Prior experience in neurological nursing or neurosurgical patient care
- Travel nursing experience is a plus but not required
