Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a mixed-acuity PCU and Medical-Surgical Surgical Oncology unit
- Manage patients with surgical oncology diagnoses including hepatobiliary, colorectal, plastics/reconstructive, and melanoma cases
- Administer and monitor chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin drips, and heparin drips
- Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies including cytokine release syndrome
- Maintain a strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention
- Float within scope of practice to other units as needed based on departmental staffing requirements
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license) required at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system
- Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
- Ability to work nights and accept variable scheduling including days, nights, or rotating combinations based on unit needs
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
- Prior experience in a PCU, stepdown, or surgical oncology setting strongly preferred
