Contract (12 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (4x10 Hours, 9:00–19:30 / 10:00–20:30) | Monday–Friday | No weekends or holidays | 24 hours of call required per 6-week scheduling period
Key Responsibilities
- Provide preoperative (Pre-Op), Phase I, and Phase II post-anesthesia care for a high-volume same-day surgery patient population in a fast-paced, rapid-turnover environment
- Manage complex postoperative patients including those requiring multiple drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia
- Perform EKG rhythm analysis, interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias; conduct IV starts, blood draws, and transfusions
- Deliver care at both pre-op and post-op stages; all staff RNs are expected to be competent in both areas
- Float within service line as needed to meet facility demands
- Document all patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in Missouri (MO) or a qualifying compact state; pending MO license submissions accepted
- Minimum 1 year of critical care / ICU experience or Level I Trauma Center PACU experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required (ACLS must be obtained by compliance deadline)
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records
- Must pass a Relias EKG exam prior to start (interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required)
- Candidate's home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
- Experience in a Level I Trauma Center PACU setting
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in a high-acuity, rapid-turnover surgical environment
