Contract | Days (4x10 Hours, 7:00–17:30) | Monday–Friday with occasional weekend requirement approximately every six weeks | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy infusions to oncology and non-oncology adult and geriatric patients in an outpatient infusion center setting
- Manage IV therapy including accessing and caring for ports, PICC lines, and central lines; administer blood products, coagulation factors, antifungals, antivirals, and IV medications
- Perform and monitor bone marrow transplant-related therapies including CAR-T, stem cell therapies, and management of graft-versus-host disease
- Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies such as anaphylaxis, acute tumor lysis syndrome, extravasation injury, and sepsis
- Provide comprehensive symptom management, patient and family education, psychosocial support, and care coordination across a broad range of cancer diagnoses
- Document patient care accurately using Epic and operate medication dispensing via Pyxis; maintain compliance with isolation precautions, neutropenic precautions, and PPE protocols
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Michigan (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum of 2 years of infusion or outpatient oncology nursing experience; first-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required
- Epic electronic health record experience required
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (locals not accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with CADD pump management and infusion pump operation
- Prior experience caring for patients with a broad range of oncologic diagnoses including leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and solid tumor cancers
- Familiarity with telephone triage, phlebotomy, and post-surgical care in an outpatient oncology environment
