Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to pre- and post-operative cranial and spinal surgery patients on a dedicated neurosurgery unit
• Serve as a secondary care provider for general neurology and stroke patients as needed
• Manage and monitor intermittently drained lumbar and surgical drains
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4–6 while delivering safe, high-quality care
• Float within service line scope to meet facility staffing needs as required
• Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (MO or compact); IL license must be in hand at time of submittal
• Minimum 2 years of registered nursing experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required by compliance deadline
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Ability to commit to full contract term with no more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a neurosurgery or neuroscience nursing unit
• Familiarity with care of patients requiring lumbar and surgical drain management
• Experience in a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma, or academic teaching hospital environment
