Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care for a wide range of surgical patients including neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant cases
• Manage critically ill post-operative patients requiring artificial airways, invasive monitoring (including ICP monitoring), vasoactive drug administration, and blood product transfusions
• Perform dysrhythmia recognition and management, phlebotomy, IV insertion, and administration of IV vasopressors
• Deliver care to a patient population including adults, occasional adolescents, and geriatric patients within a Level I Trauma Center environment
• Float within scope to PACU or PreOp units as needed to meet facility demands
• Document all patient care accurately using the EPIC electronic health record system

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Missouri or a qualifying compact state (pending Missouri license submissions accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; critical care experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (ACLS required by compliance deadline)
• Demonstrated experience in Phase I PACU and inpatient critical care settings
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system
• Candidate must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Level I Trauma Center or Magnet-designated facility
• Familiarity with care of ventilated patients and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• Experience recovering patients across a broad range of surgical specialties
