Registered Nurse – Acute Leukemia and Hematology (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients primarily diagnosed with acute leukemia and hematologic conditions
• Implement and maintain strict infection prevention protocols in accordance with unit standards
• Monitor patients via telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and utilize Rapid Response Teams as appropriate
• Manage and maintain central lines, PICC lines, peripheral lines, and perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line blood draws
• Administer blood products and manage feeding tube care
• Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of overall acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of PCU/stepdown experience
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Competency in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and line management (central, PICC, peripheral)
• Experience with EPIC computerized charting
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Valid RN compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of submission; must be a graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ONS Chemotherapy Certification (chemo certification is not required for this role)
• NIHSS certification
• Prior experience with patient falls prevention programs in an acute care setting
