Contract | Night Shift (18:45–07:15) | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 36 or 48 hours per week accepted | 13–20 week contracts

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing diagnoses including diabetes, COPD, sepsis, CHF, GI bleed, renal failure, pneumonia, and various surgical recovery cases
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias via telemetry and remote monitoring; utilize Rapid Response and Code teams as needed
• Perform and manage IV therapy including peripheral line care, PICC line management, central line blood draws, phlebotomy, and administration of heparin, insulin, and PCA
• Provide respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP management, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Deliver wound care including wound vac management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, and chest tube management
• Float to additional campus locations as required and participate in storm, hurricane, and disaster response teams as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in NC or a Compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg or MS/Telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications
• Demonstrated proficiency in telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management, blood product administration, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start; must be available to work holidays (minimum 2 of 3 major holidays per contract)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification; experience with on-unit telemetry monitoring, post-angiogram, post-cardiac surgery, post-MI care, and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with tracheostomy care, arterial blood gas interpretation, continuous bladder irrigation, accessing/managing ports, and surgical drain management
• Background in bariatric surgery care, CVA management, and substance withdrawal protocols
• Previous charge nurse experience and proficiency with electronic documentation in a community hospital setting
