General Education Teacher

iDEAL HIRE is hiring a new Elementary Multilingual / English Learners (EL) Teacher for our client in the Education industry. This is a full-time, ongoing role, working in Washington, DC, offering a starting pay rate of $43/hour.

Role Details:

• Compensation: Starting at $43/hr

• Duration: Ongoing
• Location: Washington, DC, 20011
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Deliver standards-based language and literacy instruction to EL students in preschool through 8th grade.
• Administer assessments using WIDA screeners, ACCESS, K-WAPT, and Pre-IPT, preparing test sessions on WIDA AMS.
• Use assessment data to develop personalized language acquisition plans and collaborate with classroom teachers to implement them.
• Develop and maintain a strategic schedule focused on addressing student needs and maximizing classroom support opportunities.
• Partner with classroom teachers to plan and deliver integrated language and literacy lessons aligned with the IEYC, IPC, and IMYC units.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that nurtures student growth and challenges learners.
• Work closely with families and communicate regularly to promote student success.
• Coordinate and lead professional development sessions for staff.
• Establish strong relationships with colleagues, students, families, and the community to support a culturally responsive environment.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or related field.
• Valid D.C. Teaching License with EL Endorsement.
• Experience teaching PK-4th grade ELL students.
• Proficiency in administering WIDA assessments (WIDA screeners, ACCESS, K-WAPT, Pre-IPT).
• Familiarity with Google G-Suite for Education.
• Experience working with linguistically, ethnically diverse students and children with developmental differences.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively within a team.
