Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Float Pool)

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a float pool capacity, rotating across multiple Med/Surg Intermediate and PCU departments, including travel to additional metro campuses as needed
- Monitor and manage patients requiring cardiac telemetry, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Care for patients presenting with conditions such as sepsis, stroke, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, ETOH, SI, wound care, and COVID
- Perform pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care and respond to emergency situations within scope of practice
- Fulfill charge RN assignments and holiday shifts as needed per unit rotation
- Utilize facility systems and equipment including Virtual Nurses, 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license; both Kansas and Missouri licensure (or compact license covering both states) required at time of submission
- Minimum 1–2 years of RN experience in a Med/Surg, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, or Neuro Stepdown setting
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Demonstrated competency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry unit monitoring
- Ability and willingness to float between units and campuses; refusal to float may result in contract cancellation
- Home address must be located at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Current ACLS certification
- Experience with sheath removal, feeding tube care and management, port access, blood product administration, and central line care and management
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR
