Contract | 12 Weeks | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | On-Site

Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for an assigned patient population with a mix of diagnoses and acuity levels including respiratory conditions, sepsis, and multiple co-morbidities
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
• Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment plans
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and connect with appropriate resources
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to effectively manage the clinical situation

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state license
• Current BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• Current ACLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Telemetry, IMC, or a related nursing specialty
• Ability to complete new hire orientation and designated organizational entry competency validation within the first 30 days

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Experience caring for patients with respiratory conditions, sepsis, or complex multi-comorbidity presentations
• Familiarity with competency tracking software used in nursing residency or preceptorship programs
