Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical Neuro & Stroke unit with a typical patient ratio of 1:7
- Monitor and assess neurological and stroke patients, implementing appropriate nursing interventions
- Perform and interpret telemetry and EKG readings including rhythm identification and interval measurements
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and execute individualized patient care plans
- Participate in rotating weekend coverage (every other weekend) and required holiday shifts within the contract period
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission – no exceptions
- Epic EMR proficiency required – no exceptions
- Previous experience caring for Neurology and/or Stroke patients
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association; NIHSS certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Strong telemetry and EKG interpretation skills, including sinus rhythms, heart blocks, lethal rhythms, atrial and junctional rhythms, and pacing
- Demonstrated ability to manage higher patient ratios in a fast-paced acute care environment
- Comfort with pre-start online module completion requirements
