Key Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of venipuncture including heel-stick and finger-stick procedures using proper aseptic technique
• Select appropriate specimen type based on knowledge, test requests, or research, and handle all aspects of specimen collection, labeling, and processing
• Assist the Laboratory Scientist with non-technical aspects of patient testing, including specimen processing and laboratory informatics activities
• Complete all required laboratory paperwork including patient requisitions, reference laboratory requisitions, billing demographics review, daily check-off lists, temperature monitoring, and monthly and annual records
• Maintain a well-stocked, clean, and orderly laboratory environment to support safe, quality patient care

Required Qualifications

• CPT-1 or CPT-2 certification required
• American Heart Association BLS certification required
• High school diploma required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• One year of experience as a Phlebotomist preferred
• Strong communication skills with thorough, detail-oriented approach to work
• Effective time management skills in a fast-paced laboratory environment
