Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, and developmental level
- Develop individualized care plans, determine desired outcomes in coordination with patients and families, and implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy
- Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition; conduct ongoing assessments and document responses to procedures and therapies
- Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of delegated patient care provided by other team members
- Facilitate patient discharge processes including discharge teaching, coordination with case management, and timely execution of discharge orders
- Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, CAUTI reduction, and documentation auditing
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary care team members
- Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures
- Proficiency or ability to be trained in relevant computer systems and applications
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous clinical nursing experience in a progressive care, stepdown, or similar acute care setting
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
