Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 13–26 Week Contracts | 36 or 48 Hours Per Week Available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a primary focus on stroke, neurosurgery, epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, and other neurological diagnoses
• Monitor, interpret, and manage cardiac dysrhythmias via continuous telemetry

• Perform IV starts and administer medications in accordance with unit protocols
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC, PYXIS, and SBAR communication frameworks
• Float to other Medical Surgical / Telemetry areas as needed, which may include COVID care units
• Work every other weekend as required; make up any called-off weekend shifts based on unit needs

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact state license
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year of direct Medical Surgical experience
• Must have completed at least 2 successful travel contracts prior to applying (first-time travelers will not be considered)
• Demonstrated experience with IV insertion, telemetry monitoring, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Med/Surg Neuro experience required
• Current BLS (BCLS) certification; NIH and NIHSS certifications required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification
• Prior experience in a neuro-focused or stroke unit setting
