Registered Nurse – Oncology (PCU / Surgical Oncology)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a mixed-acuity Surgical Oncology unit encompassing both PCU and Med-Surg levels of care
• Manage patients with diagnoses including surgical oncology (breast, thyroid, melanoma), hepatobiliary cancers, colorectal cancers, and reconstructive plastics cases
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin drips, and heparin drips
• Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies, including cytokine release syndrome
• Maintain strict adherence to infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention measures
• Float within scope of practice to other units as needed based on staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license — valid compact or state license required at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of PCU experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ONS Chemotherapy certification
• Prior experience in a surgical oncology or high-acuity oncology setting
