Locum NICU Respiratory Therapist

Contract | 3 x 12-hour rotating shifts | 36 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Performs and documents patient evaluations, assessments, and diagnostic and therapeutic treatments in a NICU setting
• Provides patient and family education and support tailored to individual needs, with appropriate documentation
• Identifies and communicates significant changes in patient condition to appropriate caregivers and documents accordingly
• Completes all required documentation including order entry, EMR charting, medication records, and incident reports per standard operating procedure
• Responsible for the transport of infants to and from referral health systems, providing high-quality critical care throughout
• Disassembles, cleans, assembles, and performs preventative maintenance on respiratory equipment per standard operating procedure

Required Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license issued by the North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care — required prior to start date
• Active Respiratory Therapist license issued by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice — required prior to start date
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association — required prior to start date
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association — required prior to start date
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association — required prior to start date
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification through RQI Partners — required prior to start date

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience working in a NICU or neonatal critical care environment
• Experience with neonatal/infant transport between facilities
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (new graduates must obtain RRT within 12 months of start date)
