Medical Surgical / Telemetry / Pediatrics Registered Nurse (RN III)

Contract | 3 x 12-Hour Rotating Shifts | 36 Hours per Week

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily patient rounds to ensure quality care, coordinating and addressing any unmet patient requirements.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care based on comprehensive assessment of each patient's physical, psychological, social, educational, developmental, and rehabilitative needs.
  • Assess, intervene, and reassess patient pain and symptoms promptly, taking appropriate action per standard operating procedures.
  • Identify early warning signs of patient deterioration and respond appropriately, including initiating emergency measures and notifying responsible clinicians as indicated.
  • Document and report pertinent patient observations and reactions accurately to the appropriate multidisciplinary team members, ensuring timely interventions and referrals.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient/family education as early as possible to optimize understanding and ensure safe discharge.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) or a Compact State license — required prior to start date.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) — required prior to start date.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care across the patient populations served on a MS/Tele/Peds unit.
  • Ability to delegate nursing interventions appropriately within scope of practice, education, and experience.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Prior experience in a Medical Surgical, Telemetry, or Pediatrics nursing setting.
  • Experience with interdisciplinary care team coordination and patient/family education.
  • Familiarity with incident reporting processes and standard operating procedures in an acute care environment.
