Key Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based, culturally relevant outpatient behavioral health services including individual, group, family, and marital therapy, as well as bio-psychosocial assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and care coordination
• Integrate mental health and substance use disorder interventions based on individualized assessments and treatment planning using Trauma Informed Care principles
• Deliver crisis intervention services during normal clinic hours and participate in a shared rotating after-hours crisis and emergency services schedule across rural clinic locations
• Maintain complete, timely, and accurate documentation of all services within the electronic health record, including assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge plans
• Collaborate with clinical and paraprofessional multidisciplinary team members across the health system to achieve individualized patient treatment goals
• Assess patients for risk of suicide or self-harm and develop effective safety plans; advocate for patients and coordinate services in crisis situations

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related discipline from an accredited institution
• Licensed or license-eligible as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT); once obtained, licensure must remain current for the duration of employment
• Unlicensed clinicians will receive clinical supervision covering the twelve core functions of behavioral health services
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire (American Heart Association)
• Valid State of Alaska Driver's License required or must be obtainable within 6 months of hire
• Clinical Competency Assessment required within 3 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Active licensure as LCSW, LPC, or LMFT at time of hire
• Alaska State Chemical Dependency Counselor I (CDCI) or Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) certificate or equivalent
• Experience providing behavioral health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning across patients of all ages
• Familiarity with HIPAA, CARF, The Joint Commission, HRSA, and state and federal Medicaid documentation regulations
