Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments across the lifespan and develop individualized plans of care for patients with acute, chronic, and post-operative conditions
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per provider orders; recognize and respond to changes in patient condition with appropriate interventions or escalation of care
• Apply independent nursing judgment consistent with Alaska Board of Nursing scope of practice, integrating clinical findings with ethical principles, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, facilitate referrals, and ensure continuity of services
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record
• Participate in quality and performance improvement activities; maintain required competencies and certifications including BLS, ACLS, and PALS

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska
• Basic Life Support (BLS) — American Heart Association required at time of hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) — American Heart Association required (within 6 months for new graduates or nurses new to specialty)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) — American Heart Association required (within 6 months for new graduates or nurses new to specialty)
• High-Risk Competency validation required within 3 months of hire and annually thereafter; Clinical Competency required within 3 months and every 3 years

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an inpatient or acute care nursing setting
• Experience managing fluctuating patient acuity and working within interdisciplinary care teams
• Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical systems
• Experience providing culturally responsive, patient-centered care
