Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and direct total nursing care for an assigned group of residents/patients during a given shift, assuming full responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
- Assist the Director of Nursing in achieving organizational and department-specific goals and objectives
- Serve as a resource for the unit and act as quality management coordinator
- Provide administrative backup support in the absence of the Director
- Participate in patient/resident and family teaching and work cooperatively with ancillary nursing and interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain resident/patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with facility policies and standards
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (2-year college program) or higher
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience
- Active State of Maine RN license or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Local travelers are welcome to apply
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility setting
- Previous charge nurse or supervisory nursing experience
- Familiarity with quality management processes in a nursing environment
