Contract | 16-Week Assignment | Night Shift | Onsite | Shifts available: 7a–7p, 11a–11p, 3p–3a, 7p–7a | Monday–Sunday (no block schedules)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric (ages 0–100+) in a 10–14 bed Emergency Department
- Perform ESI triage, IV insertion, drip/infusion management, EKGs, restraint application, procedural sedation, and ambulance transports
- Operate unit equipment including Alaris IV pumps, Phillips monitors, Ranger blood warmers, and Pyxis medication system
- Document patient care using Epic EMR (required)
- Participate in a minimum of every other weekend and must be flexible with holiday scheduling; travelers are required to work 2 of the 4 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Day)
- Support charge nurse functions and precept new nurses if needed; charge nurse is assigned 24/7 on the unit
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, ENPC, NRP, NIHSS, and TNCC required; TNCC or proof of scheduled class must be included at submission; NIHSS must be completed prior to start
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an Emergency Department setting
- At least 1 completed prior travel nursing assignment required
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is required and non-negotiable
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended — public transportation is not accessible in this area; all-season or snow tires required November through April
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Charge nurse experience highly preferred
- Experience working in a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) or rural Emergency Department
- Ambulance transport experience or willingness to accompany patients on transport if needed
- Comfort with precepting new nurses as needed
