Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity step-down/progressive care unit with a 3:1 patient ratio
• Operate and monitor bedside equipment including telemetry monitors, Alaris IV pumps, heated high-flow O2, BiPap, chest tubes, tracheostomy, kangaroo feeding pumps, and surgical drains
• Complete physical assessments, intake, and output documentation every 4 hours; perform hourly safety rounds and repositioning/ADLs every 2 hours as indicated
• Conduct bedside handoff at every shift transition
• Assist with emergent cardioversion and other unit-level procedures as appropriate
• Float to cardiac surgery IMC, med-tele, med-surg, and ortho-neuro units as needed; work every other weekend (approximately 4 weekend shifts per month)

Required Qualifications

• Active, permanent Alaska RN license required at time of submission — temporary licenses are not accepted
• AK RN fingerprinting must be completed during onboarding prior to starting work
• Minimum 1 year of step-down ICU / IMC / PCU experience
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry / cardiac monitoring experience
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIH-SS) certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for tracheostomy patients requiring continuous BiPap or long-term ventilator support
• Experience managing titratable drips including dopamine, dobutamine, nitroglycerin, Cardene, ketamine, heparin, Cardizem, and amiodarone
• Experience with CIWA assessments and alcohol/drug withdrawal treatment protocols
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
