Contract | Nights | Friday–Sunday | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 18:45–07:15
Key Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination, disinfection, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment using chemical agents, washers, and sterilizers
- Assemble and inspect surgical sets and trays across multiple service lines including orthopedics, neurology, cardiovascular, laparoscopic, robotics, urology, plastics, dental, ear/nose/throat, and general surgery
- Execute sterilization wrapping procedures in accordance with established protocols in a high-acuity, fast-paced Level 1 Trauma environment
- Support an average daily tray volume of approximately 250 trays
- Float between departments, units, and facilities as needed to meet operational demands
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for up to 5 hours
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience required; first-time travelers accepted
- Active BLS certification required
- Active CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA certification required
- Proficiency with chemical agents for decontamination, disinfectants, washers/sterilizers, and sterilization wrapping procedures
- Charting experience with Epic required; pre-start Epic training modules must be completed prior to start date
- Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with orthopedic, neurological, and cardiovascular service lines strongly preferred
- Familiarity with robotic surgical instrument processing
- Experience in a Level 1 Trauma or high-acuity tertiary care setting
