Operating Room Technician (OR Tech) – Certified

Contract | Rotating Schedule (Monday–Sunday, no block schedules)

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub surgical cases including C-Sections and related gynecological procedures
• Assist RNs with tasks throughout the unit when not scrubbed in
• Perform case setup and breakdown duties
• Fulfill general unit duties as assigned within the operating room environment
• Follow a 2-week rotating schedule pattern across a high-volume surgical department

Required Qualifications

• Active Vermont state license required at time of submission
• Certification through NBSTSA required
• AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of OR scrub technician experience
• Recent OB experience in a high-volume, large teaching hospital (500+ beds) required
• Must have reliable personal or rental transportation; public transportation is not accessible in this area — all-season or snow tires are strongly recommended November through April

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a large academic or teaching hospital setting
• Familiarity with a wide range of surgical specialties beyond OB/GYN
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems used in acute care environments
