Contract | 12-Hour Day Shifts | Must be flexible to work other shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn settings, supporting a Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) environment with rooming-in practices
• Support a unit averaging approximately 40 deliveries and 6 C-sections per month
• May be required to serve as charge nurse on occasion following charge nurse training
• Float to other departments as needed, which may include taking a patient load if experienced and competent in that setting, or performing task-oriented duties such as answering call lights and phones

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care in a healthcare setting; additional experience may be required
• American Heart Association ACLS or ALSO certification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification required (RNC-EFM may be substituted)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience functioning in a charge nurse role within a Labor & Delivery setting
• Familiarity with Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) practices and rooming-in care models
• Comfort and competency floating to multiple departments within a hospital environment
