Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Days – 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM | Weekend rotation and on-call rotation required (2–4 shifts per month each)

Key Responsibilities

• Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients in a Medical/Surgical setting
• Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment plans
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and connects with appropriate resources
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to effectively manage the clinical situation; may float to all Med/Surg departments as required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in state of employment or valid compact license
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical/Surgical nursing specialty
• Ability to work weekend rotation (2–4 shifts per month) and on-call rotation (2–4 shifts per month)
• Willingness to float to all Med/Surg departments as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Experience working with EPIC EMR
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex patient assignments with a 1:5–6 nurse-to-patient ratio
