Contract | Full-Time | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | 4 days per week | Expected 36–48 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a primary focus on stroke, neurosurgery, epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, and other neurological diagnoses
• Perform IV starts and continuous telemetry monitoring, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Utilize unit systems including EPIC, PYXIS, and SBAR for charting and medication administration
• Work every other weekend as required and float to other MS/Tele areas, which may include COVID care units, as needed
• Adhere to preferred scheduling practices; any called-out shifts are expected to be made up within the same week or at the end of the contract
• Complete a 36-hour unit orientation prior to independent practice

Required Qualifications

• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable for submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year of direct Med/Surg experience
• Must have completed at least 2 successful travel contracts prior to applying — first-time travelers will not be considered
• Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• BCLS, NIH, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification
• Experience in Med/Surg Neuro settings
• Familiarity with Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) care or neurosurgical patient populations
