Radiology Technologist – Nights

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients for diagnostic radiological examinations; explain procedures clearly and respond to patient questions
• Perform diagnostic imaging procedures as ordered by physicians, including operation of CR, DR, and fluoroscopic rooms safely and efficiently
• Transport portable radiographic equipment to departments including the Emergency Department, Operating Room, PACU, and nursing units
• Assist the Radiologist and/or Fluoro Tech during fluoroscopic and special procedure examinations using proper sterile technique
• Prepare and administer IV and oral contrast media as needed; document patient symptoms, history, imaging limitations, and study details in PACS
• Apply ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) radiation safety standards and promote radiation safety for patients and staff

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a specialized training program in Radiological Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Current ARRT registration in Radiology required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider level) required; must be renewed every two years
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, radiologic equipment, and radiation safety practices

Preferred Experience / Skills

• One year of experience performing radiological procedures in a hospital, clinic, or physician's office
• Proficiency with PACS, CR readers, image routing, and CD burner workflows
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot equipment issues and perform simple adjustments
