Contract | 13 Weeks | Days, 4x10 Hours (0900–1930) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia care and recovery monitoring for a diverse patient population including pediatric (1 year and older), adult, and geriatric patients undergoing same-day surgeries and inpatient admissions
- Support recovery for a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, general, robotic, orthopedic, pediatric, urology, gynecology, neuro/spine, thoracic, cardiovascular lab, trauma, GI, interventional radiology, bariatric, ENT, oral, plastics, and ophthalmology procedures
- Assist in the cardiovascular lab supporting cases that require anesthesia, including Watchman, TAVR, and EP cases
- Perform pre-op assessments for ICU patients on an as-needed basis
- Participate in on-call rotation, including one primary and one secondary call shift per 4-week schedule period
- Float between units or sister facilities as operationally required; follow ASPAN standards throughout all patient care activities
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 1 year of PACU experience required
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- PALS certification preferred
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records system
- Prior experience in a Level II Trauma Center or high-acuity PACU environment
- Comfort working with a broad surgical case mix including cardiovascular and pediatric cases
