Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
- Function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to postpartum, including eyes, Vitamin K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments — hard stop requirement
- Circulate in the OR as required — hard stop requirement
- Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Utilize EPIC and perform electronic fetal monitoring — hard stop requirements
- Float to Postpartum and Antepartum, with potential float to sister facilities that support Mother/Baby care
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required
- High-risk L&D experience required
- Ability to circulate in the OR and provide newborn care (eyes, Vit K, assessments) — hard stop requirements
- Proficiency with EPIC and electronic fetal monitoring — hard stop requirements
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Must live within 50 miles of the facility to be considered; local candidates are welcome
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification preferred
- AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
- Experience in high-acuity, fast-paced environments with high delivery volumes
- Familiarity with AWHONN staffing guidelines and standards of care
