Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Days 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Onsite | Projected Start: October 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for a variety of perinatal patients including labor and delivery, circulating C-sections, antepartum patients, and initial newborn assessments
- Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
- Utilize the nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients in accordance with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and available resources
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of employment or a valid compact license
- BLS certification required
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
- Current certification required from one of the following: AWHONN Intermediate FHM, AWHONN Intermediate FHM Instructor, AWHONN Advanced FHM Instructor, AWHONN Instructor Trainer, or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Recent experience in a perinatal setting or completion of a Perinatal RN Residency program
- Familiarity with AWHONN nurse-to-patient ratio standards in a Labor and Delivery environment
